Dynamite partners at the ICAP 2024

Sarah Hirthe and Sandra Buob, both researchers from the Ultracold Quantum Gases group at ICFO and partners of the Dynamite project, recently attended the 28th International Conference on Atomic Physics (ICAP) in London. Held at Imperial College from July 14th to 19th, the conference brought together leading scientists from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in the fields of atomic, cutting-edge research in the field of atomic, molecular, and optical physics.

Both researchers presented posters showcasing their oingoing work.Sarah Hirthe’s poster, titled “Observation of Stripe Dynamics in a Supersolid Spin-Orbit Coupled Bose-Einstein Condensate,” where she explores and characterizes supersolidity in a spin-orbit coupled Bose-Einstein condensate of potassium, received the prestigious “Outstanding Poster” prize

Sandra Buob’s poster, “A Clock-Magic Quantum-Gas Microscope for Ultracold Strontium,” detailed the development of Spain’s first quantum-gas microscope capable of imaging single atoms in a strontium gas.
